7 Habits That Cause Under Eye Puffiness (And How to Fix It)

Do you suffer from problems with eye puffiness? It’s not an uncommon predicament as you age. The amount of inflammation you get in this area can be from genetics, stress, eye fatigue, or even your skin’s characteristics.

You’ve seen people with cucumbers under their eyes trying to remove any puffiness, and some people go as far as using hemorrhoid cream trying to reduce the excess swelling in this region. However, it would help if you got to the root cause of the swelling to fix it without using such dramatic measures. Sometimes, a simple slice of cucumber works wonders, and other times using this vegetable will do nothing for your eye bags.

What Causes Your Eyes to Puff and Swell?

Anytime there is excessive swelling in the body, it’s called edema. Edema is a medical term used to describe a collection of fluids that surround the tissues of your skin. Since the skin around your eyes tends to be thin in nature, it’s prone to have dark discoloration as well as swelling.

You’re probably wondering why fluid would accumulate in this area anyway. A few things can cause this inflammation, and much of your eye swelling has to do with your bad habits. It sounds bizarre to think that you could be contributing to your eye bags, but here are a few things you’re doing that could be causing issues.

Bad Habit #1: Eating Too Much Salt

One of the first things you need to do is examine your salt intake. Salt automatically causes the body to retain fluids, which isn’t good for your eyes or heart. According to Heart Attack and Stroke Symptoms, it’s recommended that you eat no more than 2,300 milligrams each day.

Now, to break this down so you can further understand it. A classic can of tomato soup from your local supermarket has more than 1,150 milligrams. Wow! So, eating just one can of soup is about half of your daily allowance. That doesn’t even consider if you add crackers to the mix.

• How to Fix It: Use A Sodium Restrictive Diet

It’s essential to monitor your salt intake, especially if you have high blood pressure and other challenges with edema. The chances are that you’re eating way more sodium than you ever imagined, and it’s a significant cause of eye puffiness. Reducing your salt intake or using a substitute can help your entire system.

Bad Habit #2: Not Drinking Enough Water

It sounds bizarre to think that when your body is dehydrated, your eyes can become puffy. The truth is that the surrounding tissues of the eyes are full of nerves, and the area is stimulated when the body is in distress. Since your eyes are a vital part of your system, this area will hold onto fluids when the body is running low.

You see them as bags or eye puffiness, but it’s a significant indication of a severe problem. If you don’t regularly drink enough water, then it can be an ongoing issue.

• How to Fix It: Increase Your Water Intake

You need to drink the recommended amount of water for your weight. According to Step to Health, a person who weighs around 120 pounds would need five cups each day. It’s all dependent upon your weight, so you need to make sure you’re getting an adequate amount.

Bad Habit #3: Not Getting Enough Sleep

Do you have a sleep deficiency? When you don’t get enough rest, you can always tell the next morning by merely looking at your eyes. They will be dark and have a puffy appearance to them. What causes your eyes to look like this when you don’t get adequate rest?

Your body stores fluid and blood around the eyes when you haven’t slept enough. Your eyes keep a certain amount of fluid in reserve for your tears. When you blink, your eyes refresh the fluids to ensure you don’t get dry eyes.

When you haven’t had enough sleep, your eyes slow the blinking process and become dry. They will do anything possible to hold onto enough fluid to keep the eyes nourished.

• How to Fix It: Get Proper Rest

The easy fix is to make sure you’re getting at least 6-8 hours of rest each night. If you have trouble getting adequate sleep, you may need to use an herbal supplement like melatonin to help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

Bad Habit #4: Not Washing Off Makeup at Night

After a long day, it’s easy to forget to remove any makeup products. Sadly, makeup can irritate those tender tissues under your peepers and cause eye puffiness in the morning.

• How to Fix It: Wash Your Face at Night

Make a habit of washing your face when you brush your teeth before bed. It only takes a few minutes to clean your face, and your eyes will be less irritated the next day.

Bad Habit #5: Using Alcohol to Frequently

Alcohol is something that should always be enjoyed in moderation. When you regularly consume these beverages, it can cause you to experience eye puffiness. Why would alcohol do this to your body?

Alcohol is a liquid, but it dehydrates the body and removes the water that your cells need. When you consume it regularly, it causes the skin under your eyes to be irritated from a lack of moisture.

• How to Fix It: Cut Back on Alcoholic Drinks

Reduce the number of alcoholic beverages you drink or make it something you enjoy on special occasions. These drinks are also known to be high in calories and pack on the pounds, so it’s essential to use them in moderation.

Bad Habit #6: Using Tobacco Products

You’re already aware of how dangerous smoking cigarettes is for your body. The toxins in cigarettes break down your skin’s elasticity, which causes it to sag and develop things like eye puffiness.

Additionally, nicotine, a substance found in cigarettes, stimulates you and can cause a lack of sleep, contributing to puffiness around your eyes.

• How to Fix It: Stop Smoking

Not only do cigarettes damage your skin, but they can also damage the tissues around your eyes. When you inhale the toxic chemicals found in smoke, you’re putting pure poison into your body. Your skin won’t be the only issue you’ll have if you smoke; you can also develop severe medical problems like oral or lung cancer.

Bad Habit #7: Getting Too Much Sun Exposure

Sitting in the sun’s golden rays is tranquil, and many people enjoy the lovely hue that it gives their skin. However, did you know that it can contribute to eye puffiness? The heat from the sun damages the skin cells and the collagen that gives your skin its elasticity.

When you’re outside too long, your body can also become dehydrated. All these factors can contribute to puffiness around your eyes.

• How to Fix It: Limit Your Direct Sun Exposure

You should limit your direct exposure to the sun. You’ve seen people that have leathery skin as they age from being outside too much, and you don’t want to break down your skin’s elasticity and have it take on a leathery look from dehydration.

Other Things That Can Cause Eye Bags

While the items above all pinpoint lousy habits that you do that contribute to eye swelling, some things are out of your control. Here are some common issues that can contribute to your eye puffiness:

Sinus issuesCryingNormal aging processGeneticsThyroid diseaseEye infectionsKidney failureSystemic diseases

Your puffy eyes may be caused by something you’ve done, or it may be something out of your control. It’s best to start by trying a few home remedies first. Using tea bags and cucumbers can help reduce swelling, and it’s a trick many people use.

Splashing cold water on your face can also help, as changing some bad habits. If nothing seems to work, then it warrants an investigation by a physician. Your eye swelling could be linked to an underlying disease, and it should be ruled out.

Final Thoughts on Eye Puffiness

As you age, you will notice that the skin around your eyes becomes more delicate, and it’s prone to inflammation. Some people will have problems with eye puffiness and dark circles their entire life as it’s hereditary. You can do things to be proactive regarding these common issues, and they may or may not work.

It’s a process of elimination to see what’s causing your eye bags and what will work for you. If it’s an ongoing issue that doesn’t seem to resolve, it should be evaluated by a doctor. Many conditions in your body can cause the skin around your eyes to swell and discolor, and you need to make sure there is no serious underlying issue that needs to be addressed.

Kindhearted Woman Surprises a Deserving Student with a New Car

When a kindhearted woman crossed paths with a young man walking to work, she immediately wanted to help. Jayden Sutton, an 18-year-old high school senior from Georgia, walked 7 miles to and from work each day. He hoped he could eventually save enough to buy a car. However, Lavonda Wright Myers intervened and started a fundraiser so he could get his car.

Jayden met her at the local Honda dealership one day, where Lavonda presented him with his new vehicle. The Atlanta resident told Fox News that she first saw the teenager walking to work in the rain last December. Ever since that day, she felt determined to find a way to help him buy a car. Myers said her husband was very supportive in helping her pick out a car for him as well.

She said that the world needs more love, and she wants to help, one person at a time. If we all thought this way, hate wouldn’t stand a chance.

Myers said that on Dec. 10, she saw Sutton walking to work on the side of the road on her way to Powder Springs. She offered to give him a ride to work, and he agreed.

While talking with him, she found out he walked 7 miles to and from work each day. He couldn’t afford Uber rides, so he had to get to work somehow. Walking seemed like his only option until he could save enough money from his paychecks for a car.

After she dropped Jayden off at work, she said his determination and strength brought tears to her eyes. He told her with a huge smile on his face that he walks because he has to. After he said that, she felt a calling to help him with his dream of purchasing a car. She told Fox News that “that’s a child worth blessing.”

The kindhearted woman made good on her promise.

Immediately after their encounter, Myers started a GoFundMe page and shared Jayden’s story. After just two days, $6,365 had been raised toward the purchase of his car. Only a month after Jayden and Myers crossed paths, his dream came true, all because of the kindhearted woman

She then surprised Jayden with a car at Nalley Honda in Union City, purchasing it with a $7,000 check. Myers added $635 out of her own pocket to pay for the car. The dealership’s general manager agreed to negotiate with her, dropping the price of the car from $7,800.

The local news station in Atlanta was at the dealership to record the special surprise for Jayden. He was totally oblivious to the blessing he was about to receive that day at Nalley Honda. After Myers presented him with his new car, he told her he loved her for the kindhearted gesture. He said, “I just want to thank you so much; you don’t even understand how much.”

Before getting the car, Jayden would get home from school around 3:30 pm each day and then walk straight to work. He worked for 6 to 7-hour shifts at a local restaurant and then walked 7 miles back home. However, he didn’t let it phase him. He told Fox if that’s what it took to buy a car, he was going to do it.

His positive attitude is part of the reason Myers wanted to help him. He walked all that way each day with a smile on his face and love in his heart. Myers also said that the blessing couldn’t have come at a better time for his family. She found out that his mom recently had an accident that totaled her car. Because of the unfortunate situation, Jayden had to walk to work.

A kindhearted woman says the family deserves a blessing.

jayden
In the caption on one of the pictures captured when Jayden got his car, Myers had this to say:

“God did it y’all. Please know God provides. Jayden, no more walking 7 miles to work after school, young man. God bless everyone that is donating. Entrusting me and God with your seed, I declare a 100 fold return. On Dec. 10, I passed a 12th-grade stranger walking in light rain at the speed of lightning headed to work after school.

“After working a 7-hour shift, he would walk miles back in the cold, arriving home around 11:30 at night with this same smile! I gave him a ride to work on Dec 10th, and I told him in bold faith, ‘the next time you see me, it’ll be with a car the Lord’s going to bless you with.’ We prayed together on the steps of his job and activated our faith! This child, nor his family, never asked me for a penny – it was all God.

I sowed my seed first on Dec 11th, created GoFundMe on Dec 12th with a goal of $4,000 and within 30 days, God demonstrated his love, power and ability to provide over and above my goal with a $7,000 miracle in the middle of a pandemic. Thank you Jesus for an ear to hear, a heart for your people and the obedience to be a blessing in this world.

“His mom’s car was recently totaled, and she was laid off from work. If you’d like to be a blessing to her as well, you can give on the GoFundMe link on my Facebook page posted on Dec 12th.

“I definitely heard God clearly concerning this family. She said this act of kindness from a genuine heart expecting nothing in return has blown her mind. She thanks me daily by text, and tears of gratefulness is her sentiments to God and everyone that gave.

Everyone from around the world that donated, believed, and prayed with me, thank you for trusting me with every penny, and I bless God for your sacrifice. I declare it returns to you 100 fold.”

Jayden wants everyone to know that if you’re trying to reach a goal, don’t give up. You may get a helping hand when you least expect it.

Does a Friend Secretly Resent You? 25 Signs That Reveal a Toxic Person

Does your friend seem to resent you all of a sudden? You are trying to grasp why they went from being your best buddy to a toxic person in your life.

Every friendship goes through seasons. Sometimes you’re inseparable, and there are other times where you can’t stand one another. As you grow in life, your opinions change, which is why some people are friends for just a season, and then you move on.

In some instances, a friend may hang on even though they have bitterness towards you. What could cause a person that you were once so close with to resent you? There are many reasons, but you must face the situation head-on if you want to salvage this relationship.

25 Signs Your Friend Resents You, Secretly

If you’re not 100 percent sure that they have resentment towards you, then there are some signs or red flags that can help. The subtle signs of a friend with hate or jealousy in their heart aren’t hard to spot if you’re watching closely. Here are 25 things a friend who is upset with you may do.

1. They’re Offended by Everything You Say or Do

It doesn’t matter what you say or do; your friend is offended. A once charming and carefree person has become quite pretentious about any interaction they have with you. It isn’t easy to spend any time with them.

2. They Don’t Like to Go Out in Public Anymore

You would love to go to the movies or a nice dinner and chat about life. However, your friend doesn’t want to be seen in public with you anymore. Any interaction you have is on the phone or at home.

3. Conversations Are Short and About Surface Things

Forget those long and meaningful conversations that lasted for hours. Now, you’re lucky if you can get them to have a conversation with you about anything other than the weather. You feel as if it’s a bother for them to even speak to you.

4. You Agree on Nothing

If you want ice cream, they want gelato. If they spend time with you, you may find it hard to agree on anything. They seem very indifferent these days.

5. They Act Peculiar Around You

You can’t help but feel that something is off. It’s not anything they’ve said, but their actions are speaking much louder than their words. They act oddly.

6. You Hear They’re Gossiping about You

One sure way to find out if someone is mad at you is when you find out they’re gossiping about you. Some of the secrets you told them has come back through the grapevine. Additionally, some of the stuff you’ve been told they’ve said wasn’t pleasant.

7. They’re So Negative, You That It’s Really Not So Secret They Resent You

Your communication with them was always so positive that they were fun to talk to. However, now they spew negativity, and you find it hard even to carry on a conversation. Why are they so full of hate and pessimism?

8. When You Speak, They Ignore You

You try talking to them, either on the phone or in person, but they seem to ignore you. They don’t care what you have to say about anything. It’s evident how much they resent you when they act like this.

9. They Don’t Have Time for You

Even if you offered them an all-expense trip to the Caribbean, they would decline your invitation. They don’t have time for you because they don’t make time.

10. They Don’t Laugh at Your Jokes Anymore

They always loved your sense of humor before. But now your jokes land like a lead balloon. They give you an odd look and don’t even crack a smile.

11. The Arguments Are Becoming Continuous

Having fun together is out of the question, especially since everything out of your mouth starts an argument with them. You don’t know what you’re doing wrong, but it seems that everything you do is rubbing them the wrong way.

12. They Don’t Keep You in The Gossip Loop

They once shared gossip about others with you. But now they air your dirty laundry to others. They don’t tell you anything juicy, and you miss the details of all the town gossip.

13. Your Presence Irritates Them

You don’t even need to open your mouth, and they’re offended. They seem to be on edge and ready to pounce at the first thought or action that you do. They have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to you.

14. They No Longer Have Your Back

One thing you loved about this friend is that they always had your back. Now, it seems that they’re the ones that you need someone to protect you from. They resent you so much that they wouldn’t even care what happened to you.

15. They Refuse to Apologize to You

Even when they’re clearly in the wrong, they refuse to apologize. They act like you deserved what you got. Their attitude is poor, and they seem to treat you in any old way.

16. They Have New Friends

One of the reasons they don’t have any time for you is because they have new friends. They seem to be enthralled with their new relationships and focus their energy on these new connections.

17. Their New Friends Don’t Like You

In a perfect world, you could hang out with their new friends as one big group. However, whenever you’ve tried to become friendly with their new connections, they act like you’re the fifth wheel.

18. They No Longer Share Their Life with You

You once knew what time they had breakfast and what they ate for dinner. Now, you two seem almost like strangers. You don’t know one thing about their day or week.

19. A Friend Who Resents You Might Block Your Phone Number

One sign that they resent you is if you try to call or text and your number is blocked. By the time they reach this stage, the relationship is pretty much doomed.

20. They Don’t Respond to Text Messages

You’ve texted and tried to talk or see what’s bothering them, but they won’t even respond to your messages. You might be able to see if they’ve read them, but they don’t have the courtesy even to answer you back.

21. You’ve Been Blocked on Social Media

All your social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram disappeared from your view. They’re not just no longer a friend, but it doesn’t even show them as a user. This action is one way you can know for sure that they blocked you.

22. A Person Who Feels Resent Might Blame You for Things You Didn’t Do

Whether at work or in social circles, your once close friend has begun to blame you for things. You know you didn’t do what you’re accused of, and you don’t understand why they want to get you in trouble.

23. You Catch Them in Lies

When they do have the courtesy to talk or answer a text, you catch them in lies. They may lie about where they’re going or who they’re with, but the deception is a clue something is wrong.

24. They’ve Become Insulting

Not only does their attitude and communication seem to be off, but they have become insulting to you. They may comment about your family, your attire, or 100 other things that they see wrong about you. A once chipper person suddenly seems so negative.

25. They’re Overly Suspicious of Your Motives

You feel like you’re being watched or monitored. No matter what you do or where you go, they seem to be suspicious of you. They give you a specific look that sends chills down your spine. You know they resent you for some reason.

How to Handle a Toxic Friend Who Resents You in Secret

If you believe that your friend is resentful of you, then you need to get to the bottom of it. Put on your thinking cap and try to remember anything that you might have done to offend them. When you have a mental list of things, then you need to confront them.

It may be problematic if they’re not answering you and have blocked you on social media. Apologize to them if you did anything wrong that is causing them to act this way. If they were a good friend to you in the past, then it’s worth working to have a bright future.

However, if their friendship wasn’t that great, then you still need to say you’re sorry and move on.

Final Thoughts on How to Handle It When a Friend Resents You

If you’ve been friends for a long time, there will be all sorts of issues that arise. The key is to work through them as soon as they occur so that the problems don’t grow and fester to the point where they resent you. It would help if you considered that even the best relationships could start healthy and turn toxic.

Sometimes, it’s best to clear the air and go your separate ways, especially if a line has been crossed and feelings have changed. Once a relationship turns negative, it takes a lot of work to get it back on track. However, if you’ve been friends for 20 years, it might be that you need some breathing room.

Resenting someone is serious, and it’s not going to be one apology, and all is forgotten. You must work through the pain and keep an optimistic outlook.

10 Behaviors That Reveal Someone Won’t Take Responsibility for Mistakes

For some people, it seems impossible to take responsibility for their mistakes. While this can be infuriating, it may be easier to accept if you understand it.

People like this often blame their mistakes on someone or something else, rather than admitting any role in it.

If you or someone you know struggles with taking responsibility, there are reasons behind it. Oftentimes, this behavior isn’t intended, and they truly don’t want to be this way. They tend to be negative and harbor pain or distress, which contributes to the behavior.

Not taking responsibility for mistakes can present itself in different ways. It can make the person vulnerable, and it will also cause them to do the following:

place the blame on someone or something elsemake excuses for what has or hasn’t happenednot owning up to something that they have doneoften say something along the lines of, “it’s not my fault.”

While bad things happen in life, it is important to take responsibility for some of it. While it may be hard to understand why some people struggle with this, counselors explain the reasoning.

Ten Reasons Why Some People Won’t Take Responsibility for Mistakes

So what causes people to refuse to take responsibility for the errors of their ways? Here are ten.

1 – They Think it Will Benefit Them

Most of the time, people avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes because they think it will benefit them. It happens when the person can’t think of another solution or feel that they can’t handle it. They think that avoiding responsibility is easier than holding themselves accountable.

2 – They Have a Victim Mentality

Counselors reveal that this is sometimes caused by the person having a victim mentality. If someone has a victim mentality, they feel that bad things happen to them and that other people are to blame. They also believe that something is always preventing them from succeeding, so they don’t even try.

Oftentimes, they believe that there is no solution to their problem. The person gives up and believes that it didn’t work out because of the obstacle, rather than admitting it was because they didn’t try to find a solution.

3 – They Feel Powerless

People who don’t take responsibility for their mistakes also may feel powerless. They want things to go well, but it seems that they can’t do anything about their life to make them better. This is often because they think that change is impossible or that it will never work out.

4 – They Use Negative Self-Talk

Counselors also reveal that negative self-talk or self-thoughts contribute to this behavior. People believe that bad things only happen to them and that they deserve all of those bad things.

5 – They Fear Rejection and Feel Like No One Cares About Them

They often feel like no one cares about them, so they don’t want to admit their mistakes because they are afraid of further rejection. Their fear of making others angry or disappointed in them is too great to admit fault when it is necessary.

6 – They Lack Self-Confidence

Another reason for not being able to take responsibility is a lack of self-confidence or self-esteem. They may not think they are good enough or smart enough, and they won’t work on being better. Plus, they won’t try anything new.

7 – They Harbor Negative Feelings

Frustration, anger, and resentment can all contribute to someone not taking responsibility for mistakes, too. When these negative feelings take over, it feels better to blame someone else or think of how someone wronged you. They also don’t like to see other people being happy and successful.

8 – It’s a Defense Mechanism

Past trauma often contributes to not taking responsibility. It develops as a coping mechanism, and it can be hard to change that once the situation is over. When they think a situation will be challenging, they will deny responsibility to avoid dealing with the problem.

9 – They Feel Like They Are Losing Control

People who avoid taking responsibility would blame their behavior on someone else if they lost control. If they lost their temper or said something hurtful, they will blame the other people for making them say it. They do this because they feel like they have lost control and always need to always feel in control.

10 – They Have a Fragile Ego

This type of person wants to feel better than others and that they are right and others are wrong. To do this, they will blame their mistakes on others or make it seem like someone else caused them to fail.

How to Change This Behavior if You Struggle with It

If you are struggling to take responsibility for your mistakes, there are ways to change that behavior. Likewise, if someone you know is struggling with taking responsibility, you can help them make a change.

1 – Find a Solution

Instead of giving up and blaming it on the obstacle, figure out a different option. There is always a way to reach your goal and live the life you want to live. Find a solution to the problem, and don’t give up until you do.

While it’s fine to mope a little when something doesn’t work out, you have to get past it. This is the only way you can figure out what does work and then move in that direction. Once you can successfully find a way through your problem, you’ll begin to take responsibility for mistakes in the future.

2 – Change Your Mindset

If your find yourself having negative self-thoughts, change your thought process. Start saying positive affirmations to help you get out of the negative mindset. This could make a huge difference in your life and help you take responsibility for your mistakes.

3 – View Everything as a Learning Opportunity

If you view everything as a learning opportunity, you will learn and grow. This will allow you to admit your responsibility for mistakes because you will recognize the benefit. Viewing it as a learning opportunity will help you avoid future problems, allowing you to grow.

4 – Consider What Will Happen

If you find yourself wanting to avoid responsibility, think about what it will achieve. You won’t learn from the situation, so avoiding responsibility won’t help you in the long run.

Consider what will happen if you do own up to it, too. Not only will you be learning, but you won’t be left with guilt or anxiety. Admitting to the mistake likely won’t impact you long term, anyway, so it’s best to get it out in the open.

5 – Take a Deep Breath

If you feel like you are losing control of your emotions, stop and take a deep breath. Then, think about what you are going to do. Don’t let yourself react automatically when you are in that emotional state because you are the one in control of your emotions.

6 – Think About What Is Making You Feel So Bad

When people don’t take responsibility for their mistakes, it is often caused by negativity, as explained before. Think about why you feel so bad and make a change in that area of your life.

How to Respond When Someone in Your Life Avoids Taking Responsibility

If you aren’t the one who avoids taking responsibility, then you likely know someone who does. It can be hard to communicate and spend time with them if they always behave this way. There are ways to remedy the situation, however.

Explain the Behaviors That Bother You

Start a conversation with the person about their behavior and the way it bothers you. Don’t attack them, but explain that the way they won’t take responsibility is frustrating to you. They may not realize that they do this and, while it might be an uncomfortable conversation, it will help.

Set Boundaries

It won’t make you feel good to be around this person if they are always shifting responsibility. If this happens, you will feel bad when you are around them. Nicely, let them know that you see through it and then give yourself some space when needed.

Offer Help

Walking away from someone isn’t always an option, especially when you love them or have to work with them. In both instances, it is best to find a solution that will work for both of you. While you do this, you have to avoid making them feel bad about their behavior.

Offer solutions that might help, and offer help with those solutions if they need it. Offering solutions could open them up to other options and get them thinking about other things, too. Remember not to tell them what to do, but to offer suggestions, instead.

20 Motivational Affirmations to Help You Crush Your Fitness Goals

Reaching your fitness goals isn’t always easy, and it takes determination and focus. There will be times when you want to give up, but you must keep pushing through. These motivational affirmations can help you achieve your fitness goals in no time, though.

Your body is strong, and it only gets stronger with each exercise you do. It is more important to convince yourself that you are strong enough. Once you have convinced yourself, you will see how capable you are of reaching your goals.

Motivational Affirmations to Help You Crush Your Fitness Goals

Keep moving forward and taking your fitness journey one day at a time. Use these motivational affirmations to remember what you are working for and to inspire you.

1. I notice that my mind and body feel better when I make healthy choices.

Eating nutritious foods, drinking plenty of water, and exercising are all good for you. Not only will they help you reach your fitness goals, but they will help your mental health too. You will look better, thinker clearer, and be happier by making healthy choices.

2. I am excited to exercise.

If you can be excited about exercise, you will reach your fitness goals much quicker. Repeat this affirmation until you begin to believe it, and then get started. You may want to use this affirmation before each workout, so you don’t convince yourself to skip it.

3. I am working hard now so I can reach my goals as soon as possible.

Think of where you want to be on your fitness journey six months or a year from now. If you don’t get started right away, you won’t be able to reach that goal. The time will pass regardless of what you choose to do, making progress as the time passes.

When you look back in the months to come, you will see how far you have come. Don’t find yourself in the same place as right now. Work hard now so that when you look back, you can be proud of your achievement.

4. I fill my body with nutritious foods.

Exercise isn’t the only requirement for a healthy lifestyle. To reach your fitness goals, you must also eat healthy, nutritious foods. Meeting all of your nutritional needs can help you feel better and help you reach your fitness goals.

Remember that exercising every day won’t help if you are still filling your body with unhealthy food. Choose whole foods whenever possible, and avoid processed foods at all costs.

5. I am going to push myself a little more today.

It will be tempting to go easy on yourself as you exercise, but you shouldn’t always do that. Each time you push a little harder, you get a little stronger. Pushing yourself is the way to become better and more resilient as you reach your fitness goals.

The more you push and the stronger you get, the closer you are to reaching your goals. If you want to look your best as soon as possible, use this motivational affirmation to push yourself.

6. I am working to have the body I have always wanted.

Imagine the body you have been dreaming of having, and recall the image anytime you must resist temptation. If you have an unhealthy option, this affirmation can help you turn it down. Likewise, if you don’t want to work out, then imagining your dream body will get you moving.

7. I get closer to my goal every time I exercise.

Even if you only do a light exercise, you are making progress. Each time you exercise, you are one step closer to reaching your fitness goals. Repeat this affirmation each day to help motivate yourself to get your daily exercise done.

8. I am looking better all of the time.

Look for changes in your body as you work toward your fitness goals. Even the smallest improvements should make you excited. Once you noticed these things, remember them often.

If you know that you are looking better, you will want to keep working hard. It can be all the motivation you need to be successful.

9. I will never regret working out, but I will regret skipping this workout.

There likely won’t be a time when you completed a workout and wished you hadn’t done it. However, you will regret not doing it at all. Get it over with so that you can get it done and be proud of yourself for fighting through.

10. I am strong enough to do this, and I get stronger each day.

When you push yourself during a workout, you might feel like you can’t do it. Remember that you are strong enough, though, and keep pushing through. You get stronger each day, which means that you can do more today than you did yesterday.

11. I know that each moment of my day is a new chance to make a healthy choice.

The thing about making healthy choices is that it is never too late to begin. If you made unhealthy choices earlier in the day or even throughout the week, you can turn it around right now. Each moment you have is a chance to make a healthy choice.

That healthy choice could be to skip an unhealthy snack when you’re bored or choosing fruit instead. Making a healthy choice could also mean getting up and walking around after sitting for a while. Any healthy choice, no matter how small it seems, is a good choice.

12. I have the willpower to push through each exercise.

You can’t give up, especially in the middle of an exercise. No matter how intense it gets, keep pushing through. It is all about staying in the right mindset and telling yourself that you can and will do it.

13. I make the time to exercise and eat healthy foods.

An excuse that people often tell themselves is that they don’t have time to reach their fitness goals. You might say that you don’t have time to exercise or planning healthy meals and snacks is too time-consuming. If reaching your fitness goals is important to you, though, then you must find the time to make it happen.

14. I love myself and respect my body.

Self-love and self-respect are two things that can help you reach your fitness goals. These things may seem unrelated at first but with self-love and self-respect, taking care of your body becomes easier. You will put healthier foods and drinks in your body, and you will exercise more to stay in shape.

You tend to take better care of the things you love, so it only makes sense that it is the same for your body. With love comes respect, and then achieving your fitness goals will follow.

15. I am ready to reach my fitness goals.

Being ready to reach your goals is one of the steps in the fitness process. Once your mind is in the right place, nothing can stop you if you stay focused and determined.

16. I take care of myself in the best way I can.

There is no better way to take care of yourself than by taking care of your body. Your body protects you and enables you to do things, so take care of it as much as you can. Since your body protects you and allows you to be active, exercising and eating healthy is essential.

17. I am becoming a better version of myself.

You are still the same person you have always been and always will be. Even still, you can better yourself all the time. By reaching your fitness goals, you can rest assured that you are becoming a better version of yourself.

18. I have made it this far, and I can keep making progress from here.

If you are in the midst of your fitness journey, reflect on how far you have come. You didn’t work that hard to give up now or to make unhealthy choices. Use the same determination you had, in the beginning, to keep making progress toward your goal.

19. I am proud of the progress I have made so far on my fitness journey.

You have every right to be proud of yourself on your fitness journey. Every milestone, no matter how small, is an achievement. Being proud of yourself will give you the motivation you need to continue.

20. I will not give up until I have achieved my goal.

Use this motivational affirmation every time you have the urge to give up. You owe it to yourself to keep working hard so that you can have the body you envision.

Cosmic Views for April of 2021

The cosmic views for April 2021 reveal that Jupiter is a faster-moving planet than Saturn, and this month they have separated. By the middle of May, Jupiter leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces, bringing needed expansion and opportunity to those with this sign. At the beginning of the month, Saturn trines Mars and for the first few days, focus on work, and you’ll get an enormous amount done. Mars pushes the boundaries of Saturn, and Saturn slows down the impatience of Mars, allowing them both to function more efficiently than they do alone.  Mars gets added help from Jupiter, which rules abundance and expansion.

This lasts until it enters Cancer on the 24th, creating high energy and enthusiasm, along with hope for a better future. Saturn and Uranus square each other this month, representing the frustration everyone feels on slowly opening up and getting back to normal. Saturn is cautious, and Uranus is at risk. They’ll be in a battle for a while. The square indicates we won’t get it right immediately. There will be trial and error, and it’s better to error on the cautious side, depending on the consequences.

On the fifth, Mercury enters Aries and communication increases along with activities and travel. Fast-moving, it moves into Taurus on the 20th and conjuncts Uranus until the end of the month. This is a time of creative ideas and unexpected changes. Go with the flow, postpone a definitive decision until after the Full Moon In Scorpio on the 27th. Scorpio brings to the surface financial issues and humanitarian causes. Consistency will enter the picture, but not for a few more months, according to the cosmic views.

Astrologer Linda Joyce sums it up like this– it is a time to take care of the essentials and help your neighbor do the same. When you help others out, the universe doesn’t forget.

Cosmic Views for Aries (March 21st – April 20th)

As an Aries, you’re impatient, so this year has not been easy. If you’re not moving forward or being challenged, you’re unhappy. Saturn, a ruler of your 10th house of career, is square Mars in Gemini. Things at work are challenging. You’re not getting as much done as is required. Another possibility is that you are overworked, and it’s not possible to get done what others demand. This continues until the 24th, when Mars enters Cancer.

Uranus is in your house of finance and will be for a few more years. It’s important to keep your eye on how you make and spend money. Uranus squares Saturn for the whole month, so you may struggle with how much to spend or where to put the finances you do have available. Venus enters Taurus on the 15th, and things begin to improve financially, but change is still in the air. Money may come in and go out, so be cautious.

Mercury enters your sign from the 5th to the 20th, increasing communication and activities. Don’t be surprised if you plan a short trip or get out of your usual surroundings. The Full Moon in your 8th house opposite Uranus brings to a head all the challenges you have been coping with. Don’t get overwhelmed.

Jupiter trine Mars keeps you hopeful about the future, despite the challenges you face. It’s all about adjusting to what you can’t change and focusing on what you can.

If you’re in a relationship, there are no new problems, just an attempt to resolve the old ones. You’re working in harmony, and that’s a great beginning. If you’re single, it’s a good time to meet others. If friends want to fix you up — accept.

Taurus (April 21st – May 20th)

Taurus is led by desire. Your on-going mission is to be stronger than the rebel in you that has trouble saying no to itself.  When you establish self-discipline, you succeed. It’s as simple as that. Uranus is in your sign until July of 2025. Things don’t settle down until then, but the more you embrace the energy, the easier it gets.  What it does is keep you on your toes.

It would be best if you were vigilant in what you do and how you do it. Restraint and self-denial keep your focus clear and you on your path. Once you can count on yourself, you’ll be able to rely on others. See it as your savior, not a curse. With Saturn square Uranus, you’ll experience career challenges this month. Change is happening that makes it difficult for you to get comfortable.

Patience is not your best quality, and it’s demanding now. If you can, keep yourself from responding immediately, it will allow you to have more than one option. Venus enters your sign on the 15th, and you feel connected and safe. Venus is your ruler, and when it’s in good aspect to other planets, life falls into place.

Mercury enters Aries on the 5th in the 12rh house. This placement puts it out of your control, and the universe decides what gets done, not you. On the 20th, it enters Taurus and conjuncts Uranus. You may explode. Holding in your feelings is not your best quality. The cosmic views warn you–just don’t burn any bridges.

The Full Moon on the 27th in Scorpio brings relationships to a head. Someone may have to go, but only if they’re not good for you. If you’re in a relationship, it will be a challenging month, depending on what you have to work out between you. Don’t just react. Think of the big picture.

If you’re single, it’s not a good time for a long-lasting relationship, but it could be a good time to meet new people.

Gemini (May 21st – June 20th)

Gemini is one of the busiest signs of the zodiac. You don’t know how to sit still. Leaning to take care of yourself before you put others first is important. If you don’t, you’ll appear selfish to others, even when you’ve been the giver.

When you don’t speak up when something happens, it makes no difference when you do. Saturn and Jupiter are separating, and by May, Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion, will be in your 10th house of goals and career. You’re on your way to a bonus or a promotion. If you work for yourself, an opportunity may come your way.

Venus enters Taurus on the 15th, and a feeling of connectedness and harmony emerges. Venus conjuncts Uranus until the end of the month, bringing unexpected changes that demand you take charge and adapt. Saturn square Uranus for most of the month indicates a battle between freedom and boundaries. Just meet each moment the best that you can, and it will all work out. The Full Moon in your 6th house of work brings your schedule to a head. It opposes Uranus, and once again your sense of freedom is at the center of the crisis.

Mercury, your ruler, enters Aries on the 5th and Taurus on the 20th. When it gets to Taurus, it will conjunct Uranus, and new ideas or ways of coping with your situation will show their face. Listen to your gut, and don’t be afraid to come out of your safety zone.

If you’re in a relationship, things should be okay. Jupiter is happy in Aquarius. It has independence which it loves. If you’re single, you may meet someone good at juggling life as crazy as you are. Who knows, it may be a good fit.

Cosmic Views for Cancer (June 21st – July 22nd)

Cancer is a water sign, and water rules your creativity, intuition, and emotions. If you’re a Cancer, you begin this month with a trine to the Moon, your ruler. A Sun\Moon trine brings harmony from within and without, so it is always welcome.

The Sun sextile Saturn adds structure and strength to your vision. Remember, with a sextile. You have to do the work. It doesn’t just happen. Get out of your comfort zone and create what you want. Saturn square Uranus brings a battle between freedom and structure.  Relationships, business and personal, are going through changes, and it may shift how you see yourself when it comes to commitment. Normally, you’re a person of habit, so change is not easily embraced.

Mars trine Jupiter and Saturn keep you working to both expand and set proper boundaries. These opposite planets work together when you don’t do things in extreme. Mars square Neptune keeps your fantasies high and confusion strong. If you want clarity, you may have to look at the truth.

Remember, without truth. You can build anything stable. With the Sun in your 10th house in the cosmic view for April of 2021, your focus is on your goals and how to get ahead when it comes to your career. The Full Moon in Scorpio brings out your strength. It’s time to take a stand and not let others push you around or demand more than they should.

If you’re in a relationship, making your partner happy will not be a problem. If you’re single, it’s a great time to meet others, although I would suggest you don’t rely on the taste of your friends. They don’t understand what you’re looking for.

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd)

Leo is fire, and they have the power to inspire others to follow their lead. They prefer to be in charge or at the center of what’s happening. After all, that’s where the action is. With Mars in trine to both Saturn and Jupiter, things are moving when it comes to your aspirations and dreams. You feel energized and certain about what needs to be done and your ability to accomplish the tasks before you.

The square Mars makes to Neptune keeps your fantasies and old delusions strong, don’t hold on to what isn’t true, or you’ll be more susceptible to mistakes. Find the strength to see the truth, even if it’s difficult, and you’ll come out ahead. Pluto in Capricorn makes a sextile to Neptune and Mercury — your creative energy is strong. Pay attention to the ideas that come your way. They’re there to inspire and get you moving forward.

Venus enters Taurus on the 20th and conjuncts Uranus. You will be asked to see your career in a new light. Embrace change. It will work in your favor. Uranus square Saturn reveals the battle between risk and caution – find a middle road. One moment requires risk; another the opposite. Meet each challenge individually.

The cosmic views tell you that work improves after the 24th when Pluto goes direct. The Full Moon in Scorpio brings conflict into your private life. It may be nothing more than an adjustment. Full Moons reveal what’s hidden.

If you’re in a relationship, you’re suddenly aware of the truth and what was hidden. Pay attention, and it won’t happen again.  Things are good if a few changes can be made. Go with the flow. If you’re single, it may be difficult to get closer to the people you want to. Remember, it’s all about timing. Don’t give up.

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd)

Virgo is earth. There is something very primal and basic about this sign. No matter how outrageous you can be, there is a part of you that enjoys being grounded and in control. Mercury, your ruler, makes a trine to the Moon at the beginning of the month.

It won’t last long, but it will help you express how you feel, and that’s an accomplishment. As a Virgo, emotions are things you avoid, or if you embrace them, they take over your life. Mercury square Mars brings up your anger. There are things you disagree with, and it’s important to take a stand. Anger is there to make you aware of what needs to be looked at. However, it’s important not to hang on to it, or it will work against you and your health.

Venus enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus, affecting your house of work and aspirations. Changes may be made. Acceptance is the key to success at the moment. Save your frustration for when it’s productive. Jupiter is lingering at the end of Aquarius, and by May 14th, it enters Pisces, your house of relationships. Jupiter adds strength and support to wherever it goes, so relationships should improve.

Mars leaves Gemini and enters Cancer on the 24th, and you may hold on to your frustrations instead of letting them go. Not a good idea. Mercury enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus. The cosmic views suggest you’re ready to adjust your ideals and reshape them into something more real or attuned to your highest aspirations.

If you’re in a relationship, you’re still coping with Neptune in your 7th house, which clouds your ability to see the truth. If you’re happy, enjoy it. Neptune is square Mars until the 25th, so your partner may be upset until then. Give them distance. If you’re single, it’s a good time to fall in love, but it may not be real. So be careful.

cosmic views
Cosmic Views for Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd)

Libra is about truth, your truth, no one else’s. How much your truth blends with the collective may determine how easily you fit in or how difficult it will be to be heard. Venus, your ruler, enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus, the planet of unexpected happenings and change. Yes, fasten your seat belt. It’s you who’s changing, no one else.

With Mercury in Aries on the 5th, you’ll be direct and anxious to get things done. No dragging your feet. The month begins with a trine from the Sun to the Moon, a day or two when life is harmonious, and everything falls into place. Don’t get too comfortable. Saturn and Uranus are still in square and butting heads. Part of you wants to change, and the other part wants to keep everything the same. You can’t have it both ways, and sooner or later, one will win. It’s really up to you.

Saturn and Jupiter are still in the same sign, and both are trine Mars. Things are getting done, you’re moving forward, and if you take in the big picture, you’re doing fine. Let go of the nonsense. The Full Moon in Scorpio on the 27th brings financial issues to a head. It is tax time, so I’m sure it’s on your mind.

Pluto at the end of Capricorn, sextile Neptune, and Mercury make work productive and good. You’ll be able to see how far your project or what you’re doing will turn out. Trust your instincts.

If you’re in a relationship, it’s center stage this month, and you’ll get along, and things will be productive and smooth. If you’re single, you’re idealistic until the 24th, so don’t trust yourself until after then.

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 21st)

Scorpio is a misunderstood sign, partly because you’re both spiritually and worldly powerful. When you own your power, you dare to enter the shadow and not be afraid. You meet life’s challenges with strength and a determination to get what you want to be done.

A Scorpio with a good heart can change the world. This Month beings with it a trine from the Sun to the Moon. Work and financial gain are in harmony. You see that you’re on the right track. With Mars trine both Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius, things get done without much effort. Mars brings energy to wherever it is, say the cosmic views.

Saturn adds boundaries, and Jupiter expands and increases the energy that is there. All good. Mercury and Neptune are square Mars in Gemini until the 24th,  be careful of being delusional or too idealistic. If your feet are on the ground, you’ll accomplish a great deal. The Full Moon in your sign on the 27th brings your challenges to a head. This can affect all your relationships. Either you’re clear on what others are upset about, and you don’t care, or you’re in the clouds, and it’s time to get back to reality.

Venus enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus, the planet of change. Don’t be surprised if you’re surprised by the demands your partnerships make on you. They want something different, and if you’re not on board, they go ahead without you. Everything can be worked out if you let go of the control.

If you’re in a relationship, your partner is not calm or peaceful, too much going on. He or she has to make some major changes in their life for whatever reason, and of course, that affects you. They have no choice, so don’t add to the problem. Adjust. If you’re single, you’ll find relationships a bit chaotic at the moment. Meet people, have a good time, but keep your expectations low.

Cosmic Views for Sagittarius (November 22nd – December 21st)

Sagittarius is the sign of destiny. Many of you feel strongly that you were born with a purpose or a mission to accomplish. You live with an inner voice that speaks to you constantly. If you’re unclear on who you are and where you’re going, let go of the way you want things to be and see them as they are.

With your ruler, Jupiter, still in Aquarius and trine Mars, your energy is abundant. You’re pushing the boundaries of your life more than usual. There’s a need to get things going and out of the way.  Venus enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus, bringing change to your work and your friendships as well as the organizations or clubs you may belong to. As you emerge from this pandemic, you will see just how much you’ve been changed by the experience.

Uranus is square Saturn, and old boundaries are gone. It’s time to reinvent yourself, according to the cosmic views of April of 2021. Embrace the process. Mercury enters Taurus on the 20th, and it helps you reorganize your goals and career. It could bring you something you’ve been asking for. Make sure you say yes.

Uranus is in trine to your 10th house of work, so new paths and ideas will be knocking on the door. The Full Moon on the 27th emphasizes your issues around faith and the unexpected. Just because you can’t control what comes your way doesn’t mean it won’t be a gift from the Universe. Whatever happens, was meant to be.

If you’re in a relationship, it is not peaceful, primarily because of the constant array of unexpected challenges. It just takes time to adjust, and it could bring you closer together. If you’re single, it’s time to explore. Keep your options open.

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th)

The cosmic views suggest that the pressures of the last few years are beginning to lift. Pluto is still in your sign until March of 2023, but Saturn and Jupiter have moved into Aquarius, giving you a sense of freedom. You’re beginning to see the new path that before was only a dream. Whatever you have experienced this year has only made you stronger and wiser. Your ideals and goals are high.

With Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces, your feet may not be on the ground, and that’s okay, as long as you don’t stay there too long. And with the Sun and Venus in Aries, your vision is clear, and that’s what’s important.

With Saturn still square Uranus, there’s a back and forth between new ideas and possibilities. It’s time to let go of the past. The truth is, the world has changed, and we must adjust to the new environment. The worst thing you can do is attempt to recreate the past.

Routines are your talent. You create them wherever you are, and they give you a sense of security. When they change, you temporarily feel lost. Not for long. Venus enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus. This shifts how you feel about yourself and your goals. Your hard work has either paid off or not. If it has, then you’re on your way if it hasn’t, learn from your mistakes and try again.

Mercury enters Aries on the 5th, and your focus, for now, is on your home and getting things organized. It enters Taurus on the 20th, and the world around you becomes more exciting. The Full Moon on the 27th in Scorpio brings together friends and new organizations that might contribute to your new vision.

If you’re in a relationship, don’t be upset if there are disagreements on your goals. Just stay calm and express yourself. If you’re single, it’s a good time to have a good time. That’s something you do with little encouragement.

quarius (January 20th – February 18th)

You begin the month with Saturn, Mercury, and Jupiter in your sign square Uranus. Change is the key element of your life. Embrace it. You are being asked to see yourself and the world in a new light, and your new consciousness leads the way. What needs to shift is your attitude and perspective. It’s time to put yourself first.

The cosmic views predict that there will always be someone you care about in need. If they always come before you, then you won’t accomplish your goals. When you make new choices, you change your world.

Venus enters Taurus on the 15th and conjuncts Uranus. You see yourself and others differently, and it helps you move forward. The Full Moon in Scorpio on the 27th sets your career in motion. If you’re waiting for news, you may get it. Pluto, the ruler of your 10th house, is trine Mars bringing power and motivation to whatever you’re doing. Pluto remains in your 12th house of the unconscious, making sure you don’t hold on to what doesn’t serve you.

By June, Jupiter enters your 2nd house of finance, and a bonus or opportunity is waiting for you. With the Sun and Neptune in Pisces, along with Venus for the first half of the month, you may feel both poor and rich at the same time. There is an opportunity in the air, and if you have a plan, you can make it happen.  Remember what you believe you create. Beliefs are the building blocks of the universe. Never forget it. Pretending is better than not believing at all. If you’re in a relationship, there is conflict. Nothing lasting, so just have patience.

If you’re single, it’s a good time to put yourself out there, and at the same time, don’t expect too much. Whatever happens, will be exciting.

Cosmic Views for Pisces (February 19th – March 20th)

Pisces is the sign of all or nothing. You’re seldom interested in a compromise. Either your appetite is satisfied, or it’s not. And yes, you can be judgmental. You either have an opinion, and it’s strong, or you don’t have one at all. Mars in Gemini, Square Neptune, keeps you busy and either focused or unclear of your next step.

The truth is, clarity should not be a struggle. If you can just identify what’s essential and what isn’t, you’ll move forward. Jupiter rules your 10th house of career, and it’s slowly separating from Saturn, giving you a feeling of freedom and the ability to advance the way you desire.

By May, Jupiter will be in your sign, and then you have a few options. Saturn and Uranus are in square, and the battle between change and tradition continues. Change either thrill or terrifies you. However, now you don’t have many choices. The old way has been altered, and holding on to it only holds you back.

With the Sun and Venus in Aries, your vision is clear, so trust it. Pluto sextile Neptune and Mercury bring power to creative ideas and communication. This is your chance to get things going the way you’d like them to happen. The Full Moon in Scorpio is in opposition to Uranus, and whatever comes to a head will be more symbolic than real. You could see something or someone more clearly and change how important they are to you.

If you’re in a relationship, things are up in the air. It’s important to be clear on what you want and express it. If you’re single, it’s a good time to fall in love, but only from a distance. Whatever you’re feeling won’t last for long, but it could be fun.
